Wedding wrap up

Wow, what a month January February March was! Ok, so I've been working on the same blog post for almost two months. Whoops.

Our wedding went off with hardly a hitch. Aside from nearly seeing each other before the ceremony (I was walking outside to get my dress as he pulled in), and getting cupcake all over his suit (he had it coming) everything went smoothly. It was a beautiful day for January in New England, we even drove from the ceremony to the reception with the windows down. I could not have asked for a more perfect day.

Cancun was amazing! We did some cool stuff, like going on a Captain Hook dinner cruise and holding a monkey in the mall. But mostly, we spent our time laying around on the beach sipping cocktails. It was super nice to have zero responsibilities after having been so busy for so long before our vacation. However, it was filled with many first world problems including "my daquari doesn't fit in the cup holder of my beach chair" and "my steak is too big!". But its ok, we survived ;)

Before I get to the pictures that I know everyone actually came here to see, I wanted to share my list of advice to future brides that I have compiled:
  • I know it says this in every wedding book and magazine ever. But seriously, arrange to have food available to you after your reception. Between nerves, talking to your guests, and if you are like me- your corseted wedding gown: you will NOT be able to eat very much. We actually ended up ordering pizza to our wedding night hotel room.
  • Don't forget the seating cards! Even if you are not doing seating assignments, it will make it so much easier for the caterer to know what meals go where. Not everyone will remember what they ordered several months prior.
  • Don't rely on technology. Knotpic didn't work out for us at all, any photos people uploaded quickly disappeared. I found it much easier to just have people add them to Facebook and tag us.
  • Wear your wedding shoes every possible minute from the time you get them, until the big day. Seriously, do this. I wore mine quite a bit before the wedding and my feet still hurt at the end of the day.
  • Pack clarifying shampoo and a ton of conditioner in your wedding night bag. If you have a whole can of hairspray in your hair like I did, this will be super helpful. I had plenty of conditioner but only a regular moisturizing shampoo on hand. It took me FOREVER to get the curls and hairspray out!
I was going to just link to my Facebook for photos, but last time I checked my stats I realized I actually have readers from all over the place. Hello to all of you! I'll put some pics here just for you guys.

Since I began this post, we also had our big reception. Although it snowed terribly all day long that day, we still had about 90 people come out to party with us. I've yet to sort through all those pictures, but I promise to post them eventually. It was a crazy night! We all danced, sang, ate, drank, and were merry.

I plan on revamping this blog in the next several days to make it a newlywed blog, so check back soon :)

(apologizes for such a scatter-brained post, that's what happens when you write one post over the course of two months I suppose!)

Until next time..
